Alisa Chunephisal practices family law as a divorce lawyer in the Fairfax and Manassas offices. As a divorced parent, she understands that the divorce is one of the most difficult experiences clients and their children will face. She is committed to providing her clients with aggressive legal representation while treating her clients with compassion and respect. Alisa enjoys the role of being a confidant to them during this critical time while also empowering them to move onto the next chapter of their lives.
Alisa has been a practicing attorney since 2007. In recognition of her accomplishments, she was named 10 Best Attorneys, Virginia by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys in 2018 and 2019 and Top 10 Family Law Attorneys Under 40 in 2018 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys. She holds a 9.8 rating from Avvo and was a top contributor in 2018.
Alisa started her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Marcus D. Williams (Ret.) of the Fairfax County Circuit Court, 19th Judicial Circuit of Virginia. During her clerkship, she had the opportunity to frequently observe trials and motions and assist her judge in determining the best legal ruling for litigants. She went on to become a government enforcement attorney for the United States Department of Transportation, and then an associate at Norton Rose Fulbright, LLP, one of the top 5 largest national law firms and top 20 highest grossing global law firms. After many years of working in an energy practice, Alisa was looking for a practice in which she could work closely with clients to have a more meaningful impact on their lives. Therefore, Alisa left Norton Rose Fulbright, LLP to join the largest family law firm in Virginia before starting NOVA Legal Professionals in 2020.
As a divorce attorney, she has a passion for helping clients navigate issues related to divorce, property division, support, custody and visitation matters, and post-divorce modification issues. Alisa loves the practice of family law because of the connection she has with her clients. Alisa takes her role seriously when helping clients to create smooth transitions and make informed decisions for their families. She seeks to find a resolution that has the least financial and emotional impact on her clients. She aims to give them a realistic and fair assessment of each case and the options available to move the case forward towards settlement. She truly cares about her clients and their children and wants to determine the best possible solutions for them.
Alisa is a Virginia native and a graduate of Bishop Denis J. O’Connell High School and James Madison University. She received her Juris Doctor from Catholic University, Columbus School of Law. In her free time, she enjoys trying new recipes, traveling, and interior design.
